Parallels: Thank you for joining us today, Jack! What’s new in the always busy world of Blugazer?

Blugazer: So much. Just moved into a new spot, settled in with a new home studio setup. So I’m just getting used to the acoustics of the space – hopefully not too many ears will bleed 🙂 But, I find it very inspirational!

Parallels: What does your day to day schedule look like currently?

Blugazer: I wake up at the crack of dawn (literally) to get an hour or two of music in before work. I find my mind is at its most energetic in the morning. Then I head to work. I try to get in an hour of music at night, energy pending.

Parallels: Who would be your dream collaborator if you could work with any artist from any time?

Blugazer: I would have to say probably Guy J. His sound design is out of this world. His sound is not so dissimilar to mine, but his sounds are at least 10x better than mine. And let’s not talk about his grooves!

Parallels: Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?

Blugazer: This is an interesting question because I am one of those aspiring artists. But I would give a cliche response – work, work, work. There is no magic wand. Your favorite artist that sounds like he popped out of nowhere? He put in his 10,000 hours before you hear a single one of his sounds. Also, another piece of likely non-cliche advice – if it’s not fun, make it fun!

Parallels: What can we look forward to seeing in the near future from you?

Blugazer: Hopefully lots of new music! I recently started self-distributing some of my more experimental sounds on my site + some well known online portals (iTunes, Google Play etc.). I’m hoping this will get my music out there more consistently.

Parallels: Thanks so much for your time! Any last words you would like to share with the audience?

Blugazer: Thanks very much for having me, I am humbled to be here! I hope you all enjoy the mix and best of luck with the label!
